Career Compass guides teens and high school students toward fulfilling careers through personalized mentorship, skills training, scholarships and career exploration. Our program helps young people discover their strengths, develop professional skills, and create actionable plans for their future success.
Program Details
CAREER ASSESSMENT & DISCOVERY
Individual aptitude testing, interest inventories, and one-on-one counseling to help students explore career pathways aligned with local job markets.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
Professional soft skills training including communication, teamwork, and time management, plus technical skills based on regional employment opportunities.
MENTORSHIP & GUIDANCE
Pairing students with professional mentors in their fields of interest, providing job shadowing opportunities, and facilitating networking with local employers.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
Academic tutoring to support high school completion, college and vocational school application assistance, and connection to scholarship opportunities.
JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE
Resume building, interview preparation, connection to local employers, and follow-up support during the first 90 days of employment.
How It Works
ENROLL → Students referred through schools, community partners, or TCKF’s existing programs
ASSESS → Initial career interest and skills evaluation during first month
PLAN → Development of individualized career roadmap and 5-year goals
TRAIN → 6-12 month intensive program with skills workshops and mentor meetings
TRANSITION → Job placement or educational enrollment support with ongoing guidance
